Administrative Project Assistant

Design Concrete (Seaforth Precast Inc.), a member of the Powell Noise Wall Group, is a precast manufacturer located in Seaforth, ON. Our company designs, manufactures and delivers materials for proprietary noise and retaining wall systems to construction sites across North America. 

Job Description 

We are seeking an Administrative Project Assistant to work in collaboration with our team. In this role, you will oversee tasks assigned to you by a Project Manager and will be required to record data, coordinate, and retain the necessary services to ensure projects move forward in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will need to bring a positive attitude and a high level of organization to this role. 

General Duties

  • Work with Project Manager and team to create workflow
  • Collaborate and contribute to entire lifecycle of a project
  • Organize and monitor project schedules and deliveries
  • Manage and retain vendors as needed to complete scope of work 
  • Compile and provide both written and verbal reports to management
  • Identify tasks and assign to team members as directed
  • Complete research, data entry and email correspondence as necessary 
  • Project tracking using programs such as Smartsheet, Access, Microsoft Dynamics and Idencia

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of relevant/transferable work experience in a construction or manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 Applications, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Motivated and able to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to read manufacturing and construction drawings considered an asset
  • Freight and logistics planning (North American) considered an asset
  • Negotiation and effective problem solving
  • Highly Organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary commensurate with experience.

Mould Set Up/Finisher

We are looking for energetic people who are interested in working for a growing company with a small company atmosphere.  

No experience required, will train. 

Responsibilities will include the following

  • reading a tape measure
  • completing daily inspections on moulds and products
  • reading bule prints
  • setting up moulds (putting moulds together, placing the rebar) – pouring and finishing concrete
  • tripping products using the overhead cranes
  • operating concrete mixer  

Hours are 7:00am – 4:30pm (hours may be extended to meet daily production  requirements. Some weekend work may be required to meet targets) 

Starting Wage $21.25 per hour 

  • Benefits after 3 months

Machine Operator/
Concrete Finisher

Design Concrete is searching for energetic people to join its progressive Drycast Plant,  No Experience necessary, will train 

Responsibilities will include the following: 

  • reading blueprints
  • operating mixers
  • setting up moulds with proper rebar and mat
  • pouring concrete
  • finishing concrete and placing proper patterns on products
  • demoulding products using overhead cranes
  • repairing products as required
  • painting 

Performance assessments every 6 months 

Remuneration Package includes: 

+ base wage of $20.25 per hour 

+ incentive rate ranging from $4-5 per hour based on production levels + benefits after 3 months paid in full by employer 

+ Work wear after 6 months 

+ Tax Free Savings Account Employer Contributions after 6 months + wage increases after successful training periods at each station (4 stations x.25 = $1) *= Earn over $21 per hour within the first year of employment 

  • * If criteria’s are met for the first 6 consecutive months you have the option to move into Level 2 of the incentive program. $1.50 increase with half incentive. If criteria’s are met for the second 6 consecutive months you have the option to  move into the final Level 3 of the incentive program for another increase of $1.50  with no incentive. 
  • Incentive Plan Details will be discussed in the interview.

Extra duties also earn more money. 

Days or Afternoons 44 hours minimum per week 

Up to $25.25 per hour
